*A completed application form needs to be submitted at least one week before the actual audition takes place.
*LIC auditions are only held in our Long Island Campus on last Wednesday of every month. Applicants residing outside of the U.S.A. may send a videotape for their audition. Pre-screening tapes (VHS videotape) are required from international applicants. There are rolling admissions for the Music College, the ESL Language Program and the Art Program.

Audition Repertoire

Piano / Jazz Piano

Any one Etude

Any one piece of contestant's choice

Voice (Classical)

One Italian song from 17 th ~ 18 th Century

One English song (aria accepted)

One German or French song
Voice (Musical / Jazz ) Two musical selections in contrasting style

String

One caprice

Two contrasting movements from an unaccompanied sonatas & partitas by J.S.Bach.

One fast movement from any concerto in the standard repertoire.

Woodwind / Brass(Classic / Jazz)

Two contrasting etudes or pieces that shows the applicant's level of technical and musical achievement

Composition

Submit samples of original compositions for piano, voice and piano, or small instrumental
or vocal combinations. Performance tapes, if available, should be included.

Percussion (Classic / Jazz)

One piece of each category (Snare Drum, Marimba-Timpani) in undergraduate level.

Conducting

One selection of Contestant's choice on your instrument of study. Theory placement exam by LIC.

Applicant must prepare the following selections to be conducted during the live performance.

  1. Mozart, Piano Quartet in G minor
  2. Vivaldi, Spring 1 st movement
  3. Mozart, Sull'aria
