GUIDELINE FOR COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS

  1. Final Round will take place at Albert Hall, Long Island Conservatory.
  2. All winners will be announced at Award Ceremony.
  3. All Finalists must attend the Award Ceremony. Absentees will forfeit any award.
  4. Award Ceremony will take place at Maguire Hall, SUNY Old Westbury at 5 PM.
  5. BBQ dinner will be provided at the Award Ceremony.

How to Find SUNY College at Old Westbury -- Maguire Hall is at the Campus Center

BY CAR - Westbury is located immediately north of the Long Island Expressway (Route 495, exit 41N) in the village of Old Westbury, N.Y., approximately 16 miles east of the New York City line. The main entrance to the college is located on the west side of Rte. 107 approximately one mile north of Jericho Turnpike

From the Long Island Expressway (Route 495), east or west: Travel to exit 41 north, Route 106/107. Proceed north for 1½ miles to the campus entrance.

From the Northern State Parkway, east or west: Travel to exit 35 North, Route 106/107. Proceed north for 1½ miles to the campus entrance.

BY TRAIN - The Long Island Railroad stops in Hicksville, Take N20 or N21 to SUNY Old Westbury Main Gate less than 10 minutes from campus, take a shuttle bus to Campus Center (Maguire Hall & Jones Hall)

BY BUS - The MTA route N-20, which travels from Main Street in Flushing, New York, to the Hicksville railroad station, includes a stop at the College's main entrance. take a shuttle bus to Campus Center (Maguire Hall & Jones Hall ) A college shuttle bus meets MTA buses at the main gate during the school year and registration hours, at certain times

Application Requirements

Category A: 16 ~ 21 years old
Category B: 10 ~ 15 years old

A Complete Application Includes: Postmarked on or before May 30, 2008

  •  Application form with two ID-photo(2x2) of contestant
  •  Proof of date of birth (e.g. copy of birth certificate, passport, etc.)
  •  Non-refundable application fee: $75.00. (Bank certified check or money order only, Check made payable to LISMA Foundation ) which includes Festival & Competition 2008.
  • CD , DVD or videotape (VHS) for Preliminary test
  • All contestants age will be applied on May 31, 2008

Competition Rules

  •  All contestants must perform by memory in final stage.
  •  Arrangements: absolutely no simplified editions. Repeats will not accepted.
  •  All application fee and CD/VHS is not refundable.
  •  Judge's comments will not be disclosed.
  •  Contestants are required to provide original music to the competition. (No Xeroxed copies)
  •  Each contestant must bring own accompanist. There will be extra charged for accompanist if need. (contact LIC in advance)
  •  When playing a Concerto; contestants should play the cadenza.
  • Travelling expenses must be paid by the competitors and their accompanists. (Hotel information can be provided by LIC)
